Login Required: Check Your Download Link
A login required message in TapKlip means the platform requires sign-in to view the linked content. Open the link in a private browser window to check access. TapKlip cannot download content that requires login.
Login required: what the message means
TapKlip shows This content needs a login with the code login_required when the platform requires sign-in to view a post. A shared link does not remove that sign-in requirement.
TapKlip downloads public content from TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest. Private posts, deleted posts, and content that requires login are not available to download through TapKlip.
Why a platform asks you to sign in
A login prompt does not mean the link is incomplete. A full link can still lead to a post that the platform only shows to signed-in viewers. Common reasons include:
- An age restriction requires viewers to sign in.
- The creator has limited who can view the content.
- The platform requires login before showing the post.
The message alone does not identify which restriction applies. What matters for downloading is whether the post opens while you are signed out—not whether you can see it in your own account.
How to check the link and try again
- Open the post in a private or incognito browser window. Stay signed out of the platform.
- Check whether the post is visible. If a login screen blocks it, choose a different public post that opens without signing in.
- If the post opens while signed out, use the platform’s Share menu and select Copy link to get a fresh link.
- Paste the copied link into TapKlip and try the download again.
- If the public post still shows the same message, send its link and the code
login_requiredthrough the contact page.
TapKlip gives you one box for four platforms. It’s free, no sign-up, no pop-ups—just a straightforward way to download supported public posts.
Check that your link points to supported content
Use a link to the individual post, video, Reel, or Pin—not a profile or feed. The right link is only part of the check: the content must also be public and available without login.
| Platform | Supported content | Link to copy |
|---|---|---|
| TikTok | Videos and posts with multiple photos | The individual video or photo post, not the creator’s profile. |
| Posts, Reels, and posts with multiple photos | The individual post, Reel, or carousel, not the profile. | |
| Videos and Reels | The individual video or Reel, not a page or feed. | |
| Videos and images | The individual Pin, not a board or profile. |
If TapKlip says the link is incomplete or unrecognised, follow the invalid link guide. If the post is no longer available, see private or deleted content help.
Frequently asked questions
What does login required mean in TapKlip?
A login required message in TapKlip means the platform requires sign-in to view the linked content. TapKlip cannot download posts that are only available after login.
Can I sign in to TapKlip to fix this?
No. TapKlip requires no sign-up, and signing in to the original platform in your browser does not make content that requires login available to download through TapKlip.
Why does my shared link still require login?
Sharing a link does not make a restricted post public. Open it in a private browser window while signed out; if the platform requires login, TapKlip cannot download that content.
What if the post opens without login but TapKlip still shows an error?
Copy a fresh link from the public post’s Share menu and try it again in TapKlip. If the login required message remains, send the link and the code login_required through the contact page.
