Platform outage messages: what they mean

TapKlip shows a platform outage or download error message when it cannot get a file from TikTok, Instagram, Facebook or Pinterest. The message explains what stopped the download, but does not confirm whether your link works.

What can interrupt a download?

An error message does not always show the exact cause. Downloads can stop for these reasons:

  • A platform changes how it works, and TapKlip needs to update how it gets files.
  • A platform limits download requests.
  • The platform or TapKlip has a temporary problem.
  • Downloads from that platform are temporarily paused in TapKlip.

Access to the post is a separate issue. TapKlip supports public content only: private or deleted posts, and content that requires login, cannot be downloaded.

Check your link, then retry

  1. Open the original post. Check that it still exists and is public.
  2. Copy the post link again from the platform's Share menu. For TikTok, follow the copy-link guide.
  3. If TapKlip says This took too long, try once more. For a busy, broken or paused message, wait before retrying.
  4. Return to TapKlip, paste the link and select Download. One box handles links from all four supported platforms.
  5. If the error continues with a public post, use the contact page to send the post link and the exact message or code.

Avoid pressing Download repeatedly while you wait. If TapKlip shows a different issue, follow the guide for an invalid link, login-required content or private or deleted content.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a platform outage last?

There is no fixed recovery time. Wait a while before trying again. If the same error continues with a public post that is still available, contact TapKlip with the link and error message.

Does a platform outage mean my link is wrong?

No. An outage message does not tell you whether your link is correct. Check that the original post is public and still available, then try its link again later.

Can TapKlip download private or login-required content?

TapKlip downloads public content only. It cannot download private or deleted posts, or content that requires login. Waiting for an outage to end does not change access to those posts.
